Voluntary assisted dying is now law in every Australian state, and Tasmania's own legislation is undergoing its first statutory review in 2026. We spoke with Anne Sherston of the Human Life Protection Society to talk about what “safeguards” really mean once a euthanasia law is in place, why an ageing membership is one of the movement's biggest challenges, and why she believes the churches have gone quiet on the issue.
